OSLO (Reuters) – Aker (Norway)AKER.OL) expects a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) for its Aker Energy Holding to be launched in late 2019 or 2020, depending on when Ghana approves the development plan for its Pecan field.

"My badumption is late 2019 or sometime in the next year," the chief executive of Norwegian investment company Oeyvind Eriksen told Reuters on Thursday.

The Ghanaian authorities should still approve their revised $ 4.4 billion development plan for the Pecan offshore oilfield by the end of the third quarter of 2019, but delays can not be ruled out, Eriksen said.

Eriksen added that he hoped that Aker Energy would be able to raise the capital it needed despite the volatility of the oil and gas market.
