Mavis Hawa Koomson, Minister of Special Development Initiatives
Deputy [MP] Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi, from Lower Manya district in the East region, called on the government to explain to Ghanaians the truth behind its controversial 1Village 1Dam initiative.
According to him, we should not be wrong, but serve the government well to explain its mistakes about the project rather than wanting to destroy taxpayers' money to build something in keeping with its election promise.
"This government should be bold and tell us the truth about how our money is being used as part of the 1Vilage, 1Dam initiative. We are required to make mistakes as human beings; all we need is the truth, "he told the public debate of the UTV Adekye Nsroma newsgroup.
His request comes after Mavis Hawa Koomson's comments about not building a significant dam because of the budget allocated to his department.
"In fact, the Minister of Special Development Initiatives should also be held responsible for the financial losses suffered by the state," he added.
