Many people think Rob Gronkowski will come back for the 2019 season, but not a former teammate – Sebastian Vollmer.
Vollmer thinks he's going to stay retired.
"I do not think he'll come back," he told Adrian Franke of Spox in German, translated by Pats Pulpit. "Just by looking at his fitness, I do not think he'd be able to get out of it."
The former offensive attacker has a better idea of what Gronkowski will live because he had to retire at age 32 as a result of a shoulder operation and injury at the hip at the start of the 2016 season. He officially retired in May 2017 and has lost nearly 75 pounds since he was playing at this time.
In total, Vollmer played seven seasons in the NFL, all with the Patriots, and is currently doing broadcast work for German television.
