William Saliba will sign a five-year contract with Arsenal on Tuesday.

The Gunners pursued the signature of the central St. Etienne and took a closer look at the rivals of North London, Tottenham Hotspur.

According to French radio CMR, an agreement was concluded on the basis of 29 million euros plus bonuses, with Saliba en route to the Emirates stadium.

It is claimed that the central defender's desire to join Arsenal at the expense of other interests played a key role in the Gunners' victory.

Saliba will now sign a five-year deal with the Gunners on Tuesday.

According to the terms of the agreement, he will then be loaned to Saint-Etienne for the entire 2019/20 season.

Arsenal will certainly be delighted to have won the race for the highly rated central defender, but he will have to wait 12 months before welcoming him into the team at the Emirates Stadium.

Saliba will now seek to grow in a familiar environment and will head to Arsenal, an even better player, next summer.
