Herbert Delaigle, a 94-year-old man, and his 88-year-old wife, Frances, reportedly died on the same day. The couple, who has been married for 71 years, is reported to have died a few hours apart.

According to Metro UK, the couple's love story began at a Waynesboro cafe where they met. Herbery was 22 years old and Frances was 16 years old at the time.

Frances, 16, was working at the coffee shop when she met her future husband. In an interview in 2018, Herbert had told WRDW that he had had the courage to ask him to go out after seeing him at the cafe a few times.

He said: "I saw her come in, go out and come in, and I was staring at her, and then I finally had the courage to ask her if she would go out with me one day or the other. "

Herbert asked for his hand in marriage a year later. He said: "I asked her if she had me as a husband and she said of course."

The couple's family issued a statement, claiming that their love story was amazing. "It's amazing how they were together for 71 years and now they are together in heaven, what an amazing love story."
