Ashanti NDC: tension, angry supporters, party office

Kumasi, July 18, GNA – Hundreds of people angry
Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the Asawase constituency
On Thursday, the Ashanti regional party office in Amakom, Kumasi, was besieged for
ventilate their spleen on the regional frames.

This followed the accusations of anger
supporters that regional leaders resorted to what they called mafia
tactics "to prevent a certain Mr. Mubarick Masawudu from challenging the imminent decision
primary parliamentary party in the Asawase constituency.

But for the timely intervention of a
well-armed security detail of the Regional Police Command, the situation
would have become mean that supporters threatened to force the main
door of the regional office of the party which was closed since the morning.

Mr. Masawudu, who was present at the office
submit his application form, expressed disappointment at the closure of the
office, saying that he was not happy at the turn of events.

"Clearly, this development is a
try to frustrate myself by challenging the Asawase NDC constituency primaries,
but I'm not disturbed, "he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

Mr. Masawudu, age 35, development consultant,
had promised to develop the human resource base of the constituency if given
the nod as NDC parliamentary candidate for Asawase.

Moreover, he intends to set up a
dynamic youth development policy to encourage them to develop their skills
appreciable level.

Mr. Alhbadan Tapsoba, Executive Member of
the regional NDC has called on supporters to stay calm.

The party, he said, was working feverishly
to respond to their concerns.
