At the ICT Experience Pavilion located at Nambu University, the main venue of the FINA World Championships in Gwangju, visitors can swim in deep waters … in virtual reality.
"This pavilion is filled with cutting-edge 5G technologies and virtual reality that offer visitors a complete swimming experience at visiting local attractions."
Visitors can start by putting themselves in front of a self-badessment machine that badyzes their health problems and formulates personalized exercise recommendations.
Few people jump from a 75-meter-high diving board if you're not a professional diver.
But in virtual reality, visitors can experience a deep dive that seems real to them but is totally safe.
"I attended the 3 and 10 meter diving competition, I just tried the 75 meter dive in virtual reality and it was so real, especially since I was just watching the reality. It was so scary and I did not want to jump. "
Children can take swimming lessons and practice their movements.
Visitors can also try other water sports, such as artistic swimming and water polo, by simply following the instructions on the screen.
"We are here in Korea to support our girl who is in the art swim.Today, we came in and we did the underwater craft that was really good.And we tried diving high. It was fantastic to swim because we thought it was better to try for our daughter – it's all – it's really good. "
For those who are interested in local tourist attractions, they can use a virtual reality zip line through Gwangju's iconic mountain, Mudeungsan Mountain.
Visitors can also purchase the latest 5G-compatible services, such as autonomous driving and images taken from an airship flying over the main sites.
Since its opening on July 12, the ICT Experiences Pavilion has attracted around 1,000 visitors a day and will remain open until August 18.
