The facilities will fund the design, construction and commissioning of a drinking water infrastructure project in Tamale.
The project, he noted, once completed, would put an end to the difficulties of the inhabitants of Tamale and the Damongo region.
The minority leader said the people of Tamale were struggling because the population of the region had exceeded the production of drinking water.

The existing water supply system for Tamale and its environs was built in 1972 and the purification station is located at Nawuni on the White Volta River.

Due to rapid population growth in Tamale and surrounding areas, demand for water has once again exceeded supply.
