Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu must publicly name and shame the heads of the institutions that take him into his work, Crusader anti-corruption and a retired member of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), said Dr. Appiah Kubi.

According to him, officials of institutions and government officials who make difficult the work of a special prosecutor can only comply if their names are published in newspapers.

"Civil societies, anti-corruption crusaders and many Ghanaians are committed to helping the special prosecutor achieve the goal of creating the office. He should therefore propose the names and, if possible, bring them to justice, otherwise the special prosecutor's office will be meaningless, "Appiah Kubi said in an interview.

Appiah Kubi, a former CHRAJ member, added that politics is the biggest challenge in the fight against corruption.

He said that political parties are not willing to give the necessary support and resources to the institutions against which they are fighting because some of their members are involved.

However, he trusted the Special Prosecutor and called on Ghanaians to provide him with the support and time needed to fulfill his mandate effectively.

Martin Amidu, in a long redaction, says that some heads of institutions make it difficult to fight corruption.

Mr. Amidu said that some of these heads of institutions refused to comply with laws aimed at ensuring good governance and protecting national funds. "The biggest challenge that the Special Prosecutor's Office faces as an investigative body and the powers that are conferred on it are not the president who promised the Ghanaian people to create the office, but those in charge of institutions who simply refuse to comply with laws to ensure good governance and protect national finances by fighting corruption.
