Mr. Yaw Oppong, a lawyer, offered to provide legal services to the soldier, who was convicted and sentenced to 90 days in a military guard room for violating military regulations.

Isaac Lincoln Wbadah, who was recently seen in a viral video supporting the campaign against a new parliamentary chamber, was also stripped of his rank of acting corporal to a private soldier.

Private Wbadah from 2 Reconnaissance Squadron in Sunyani was sentenced after a summary trial.

However, in an interview with The Daily Graphic, Mr. Oppong said that the sentence was too severe and that he was available to provide legal services to the convicted soldier.

The lawyer explained that he would study the process leading to the conviction and advise accordingly, if any.

Mr. Oppong said he had already appealed the conviction of a soldier through the commissioner of the court and won his case.

Trial

The hearing was chaired by the unit commander, Lieutenant-Colonel W. A. ​​K Ackah. The other members of the committee were Captain V. Bempong, Lieutenant Commander V. Dafliso, Sergeant R. Attor and Cpl J. O. Okumtey.

Private Wbadah was found guilty after being subjected to a series of questions, a source close to the trial said.

The source revealed that Wbadah had not shown remorse for his actions.

"His actions were clearly contrary to the military rules. His actions discredited the name of Ghana's armed forces, "said the source.

After the broadcast of the video, Wbadah was arrested by the military high command for interrogation.
