A day after Donald Trump tried to stand out from the racist songs heard at one of his campaign rallies, the US president praised the crowd as "incredible patriots."
On Friday, the president again escalated his attacks against US representative Ilhan Omar, stating that he "was unhappy that a parliamentarian could hate our country."

On Thursday, however, Trump tried to stand out from the same crowd, saying he was not "satisfied with the singing" and that he did not agree with him. He falsely said that he had tried to stop the crowd.
His comments came just days after attacking Omar and three other women members of Congress – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley – in a series of racist tweets in which he asked the four women to return home. where they came from. All four are citizens of the United States and all but Omar were born in the United States. Omar arrived in the country as a Somali refugee at the age of 12.
On Thursday, Omar called Trump "fascist" and said she was "not discouraged" and "unafraid".

In response to Trump's racist tweets earlier this week, Omar, Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley said they "will not be silenced." They also stated that as "team", they would continue to focus on issues that, in their view, deserve special attention, including immigration, health care and education.
"This is simply a disruption, a distraction from the insensitive, chaotic and corrupt culture of this administration," said Pressley. Ocasio-Cortez warned Thursday that Trump's attacks "put millions of Americans at risk".
