British Airways flights to Cairo canceled

British Airways has canceled all flights to the Egyptian capital Cairo for a week by "precaution" security.

Pbadengers about to take a BA flight to the city from London Heathrow airport were said that it was canceled – and that there would be no other flights for a week.

The airline did not specify the security problem.

A spokesman for Cairo Airport told the BBC that BA had not yet informed the airport of these changes.

A spokesman for BA said: "We are constantly reviewing security measures at all airports around the world and have suspended flights to Cairo for seven days as a precaution to allow further badessment.

"The safety of our customers and crew is always our priority, and we would never operate a plane without security."

The British Foreign Office updated its opinion on the British traveling to Egypt on Friday.

The notice contains the following warning: "The risk of terrorism against aviation is increased." Additional security measures are in place for flights departing from Egypt and bound for the United States. United Kingdom".

In Cairo, Pierre-Antoine Denis, of BBC Africa, said that all other airlines using the airport are operating normally.
