Liverpool is still in the midst of its pre-season preparations after wins against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City.
Jürgen Klopp's players recently took part in their US tour against Borussia Dortmund and will face Sevilla and Sporting CP, before ending their summer with matches against Naples in Edinburgh and Lyon in Geneva.
But attention is already turning to the opening match of the Premier League against Norwich City on August 9 in Anfield. The Reds hope to go further in 2019/20 and claim the ultimate prize for the Premier League title.
For now, without looking speculatively for future signatures that may or may not happen, here is how Liverpool should line up against the Canaries next month.
Alisson Becker (GK) – The Brazilian, number one, will return to Norwich Friday night after winning the Copa America and will be full of confidence for the game and the new season. He is eyeing the next Golden Glove campaign after obtaining it in 2018/19.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – One of the first names on the team sheet, the 20-year-old, has blocked the right-back position, having impressed throughout last season with 13 badists. An evidence.
Joe Gomez (BC) – Liverpool fans could see Joe Gomez making his comeback in the first team, after fracturing his broken leg during the Reds' 3-1 win at Burnley on Dec. 5 last season. We could give him the green light in front of Joel Matip.
Virgil van Dijk (BC) – He takes himself, really. Will continue where he stopped last season. The imposing 28-year-old will be as always at the rendezvous. This will undoubtedly be another successful campaign for the Dutchman.
Andrew Robertson (LB) – Scot, 26, had an impressive number of badists last season. Another member of Klopp's key gaming staff, Robertson has been a breath of fresh air since his arrival from Hull City for £ 8 million in 2017.
Fabinho (DM) – Despite a slow start to Anfield's career, after his £ 44m transfer from AS Monaco last summer, the Brazilian is another formidable player in the Liverpool midfielder. Now a crucial member of the starting lineup, he is the steel the Reds need in the middle.
Jordan Henderson (CM) – The 28-year-old captain of the Reds is "hungry for trophies" and will undoubtedly be one of Klopp's three centers for most of the season, including the opening match at Anfield.
Georginio Wijnaldum (CM) – His two goals against Barcelona were unbelievable, but it was the performance of the Dutchman in the last campaign that did not go wrong. A baller and terrier in the middle, he should start, especially with injured Naby Keïta.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (RW) – The 25-year-old could make a comeback on opening day, after being away for more than 12 months due to a knee and hamstring injury. Oxlade will be a new player for the Reds and will most likely replace Sadio Mané, following his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Roberto Firmino (CF) – After the success of a successful Copa America, the Brazilian will be fit and will be thoroughly, hoping to help the Reds defeat Norwich. With 16 goals in all competitions of the last campaign, the 27-year-old will be on the front line.
Divock Origi (LW) – After signing a long-term contract to stay at Anfield, the hero of the Liverpool Champions League will likely be recruited to replace Mohamed Salah, after his participation in the CAN. With a lot of power and pace, he will aim goals against the Canaries.
