The dangers of ignorance | Characteristics

Ignorance is not just a social problem. it's a big problem that God does not tolerate. Indeed, lack of knowledge or ignorance can lead Christian men and women to eternal death. This is why God warns Christians against ignorance, knowing the dangers that this represents for his children. The scriptures warn us that "God has neglected the moments of ignorance, but he now commands all people in the world to repent …" (Acts 17:30).

We can not be children of God and remain ignorant about the love of God, the will of God, the ways of God, the acts of God, the promises of God, the principles of God, the commandments of God, the laws of God, the precepts of God, the warnings of God, the wisdom of God, the salvation of God and other things upon which God wants us to be informed.

The creator of the cosmos alone is the repository of knowledge. He is omniscient. It is written of God: "Oh, the depth of the riches, the wisdom and the knowledge of God! May his judgments be unfathomable and his ways impenetrable "(Romans 11:33). And being aware of the dangers of ignorance, God wants people who believe in Him and walk with Him to become informed.

Thus, God promised to give the congregation of Israel pastors according to his own heart, which would feed them with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15). It is no wonder that Malachi 2: 7 states that "the lips of a priest must protect knowledge and people must seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of armies."

The word "guard" means "keep" or "keep". This means that the servants of God, including all Christians who are priests to God, should be informed of the Word of God and ready to teach others the ways, acts, precepts and commandments of God. You can not be a Christian and ignore the scriptures.

The Bible is full of words such as teaching, knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Almost every minister appointed by God teaches. It is rare to see a messenger of God who has never taught the people of God. From Noah to Bishop Antipas of Pergamum to all true ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, everyone was and is given the innate desire and pbadion to teach the oracles of God .

Jesus Christ is the greatest teacher in the world. The words of no one have influenced the world as much as those of Jesus Christ. Teaching is necessary to transmit knowledge, wisdom, understanding and eventually change lives. Teach and learn to eliminate ignorance. But a Christian who does not want to be educated will be a danger to himself, his community and the whole world.

More dangerous is the pastor who is ignorant. He will teach and feed people with errors, lies, and lies, thus driving them to rout to eternal destruction. Yes, an ignorant pastor will train ignorant Christians. That is why most Christians are ignorant today. An uninformed pastor will hurt himself and others. As a blind pastor, he and his followers will fall into a ditch.

Therefore, as an educated Christian, you have a duty to read and meditate personally on the Word of God in order to receive knowledge. And you have a duty to teach others, especially those who can not read the Bible, the truths to which you have been exposed by the grace of God, in all humility and patience. Today, we live in a complex world where many people teach the Word of God through a myriad of media.

However, the Apostle Paul warned that "If someone teaches a different doctrine and does not accept the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that is consistent with the deity he is swollen with vanity and understands nothing "(1 Timothy 6: 3-4).

It means that a servant of Christ can not just get up and teach whatever he likes. And even if he teaches what he loves, he can not escape the condemnation of the Lord who knows everything. A pastor must be led by the Spirit of Christ to give believers messages in accord with the teachings of Jesus Christ and the founding apostles.

But a pastor who teaches different doctrines is just proud and lacks knowledge. His erroneous teachings give rise to controversies and quarrels over words that produce envy, dissension, slander, perverse suspicions, and constant friction between persons deprived of the truth … (1 Timothy 6: 4 – 5).

This is the dangerous situation in which today are many Christians. What is the fate of the people who are trapped in the aforementioned sins? They can be immersed in eternal ruin and destruction. So, now, to avoid falling into destruction, we must repent of our ignorance and seek knowledge of the Bible through diligent Bible studies, both at home and in the church.
