This week's quiz: On June 15, I asked you to write with the names of modern countries where ancient Mesopotamia was located, as well as the names of the two rivers that fed it.
The answers are: The names of the rivers are the Tigris and the Euphrates – in fact, "Mesopotamia" means "two rivers" in Greek, as many of you have noted. In today's countries, Mesopotamia would cover most of Iraq, Kuwait, the eastern parts of Syria,Southeastern Turkey and areas along the Turkish-Syrian and Iran-Iraq borders.
