LAURENT KOSCIELNY has reached an agreement with Rennes as he prepares to end his stay at Arsenal, according to reports in France.
The 33-year-old Gunners captain refused to join his teammates during their pre-season tour and demanded permission to leave.
Koscielny's revelation stunned the Arsenal leaders and was soon to sign for Bordeaux, but now seems to be connected to Rennes, according to RMC.
It is thought that the French defender will cost about £ 10 million unless he can accept that his contract is torn up.
The team says that Koscielny should meet Arsenal officials within 48 hours to request the termination of his current contract, after having a personal agreement with Rennes.
Koscielny's desire to leave – and the way he was caught there – shocked everyone affiliated with the North London club, including former boss Arsene Wenger.
SURPRISE OF WENGER
The former head of the Gunners said: "I am very surprised by the current situation.
"I do not know the whole story, but Laurent's behavior with me has always been irreproachable.
"I think a lot about Laurent as a man."
Koscielny's gesture sparked a three-way war between Bordeaux, Lyon and Rennes.
And the French even followed the Gunners on his Instagram account before any news appeared, suggesting that he would redeem himself from his contract with Emirates for £ 90,000 a week.
But there seems to be two facets in the story: former teammate and close friend Olivier Giroud claimed that the defender was "very hurt" by the situation.
Meanwhile, the Gunners left-back, Nacho Monreal, appealed to Koscielny to end his shot.
