Manny Pacquiao may have surprised many people by rolling back the years and beating Keith Thurman on Saturday night – but not Floyd Mayweather.
Pacquiao dropped world champion Thurman in the first round of their showdown in Las Vegas before finally winning by split decision.
And Mayweather, who was at the edge of the ring while his promotion company was involved in the fight, gave his reaction.
According to The Athletic, he said, "It does not surprise me, it's Manny Pacquiao."
Mayweather and Pacquiao have been badociated with a rematch, four years after the former's victory at a points decision in the richest fight in history.
And Pacquiao claimed that his rival jumped out of his seat as a sign of celebration when Thurman hit the bridge.
But the Filipino also insisted that he would not fight again this year because of his commitments as a senator in his country.
On Mayweather, he said, "I have no idea, my plan this time is one fight at a time.
"He is retired and enjoying his retirement, he is inactive, he is ready to come back and fight with me, he will announce it at that time and we will be able to say yes."
Mayweather has not fought since he broke his 50-0 record by stopping Conor McGregor in their farfetched but lucrative fight in 2017.
Thurman, meanwhile, confessed not having suffered his first professional defeat.
He said: "He has been involved in so many wars that he just knows what to do at the right time." I had a good training camp, but I felt that I needed better performance to face Manny Pacquiao. "
