Accra, July 21, GNA – Zongo Against Drug (ZAD), a civic pressure group,
was trained in Sabon Zongo, in the central municipality of Ablekuma, to verify
drug abuse by young people in the region.
It also aims to defend the cause of
educate young people about the dangers of drugs, its side effects and help
that they abstain from it.
Mr. Abdul Rahim Salifu Ango, President of the

Ghana News Agency that the group would raise Muslim youth awareness
in Accra on the need to avoid negative practices in society and to defend
moral principles.
ZAD, he said, is a non-partisan group, whose

community leaders and some leaders.
He said that he is trying to stimulate the action of
decision-makers and the public to recognize and take pragmatic measures to
discourage young people from the need to avoid deviant and immoral acts.

it is necessary to prepare to play a significant role in the

He said that ZAD had the intention to work in partnership
with private and public sector institutions as well as

He expressed the hope that the media could
continue to play its critical role of informing and educating the public about
ZAD's concerns.
He said that community commitments and the press
releases would be the primary means of pursuing ZAD's goals.
