Liverpool is still waiting to know the extent of Ybader Larouci's injury.
Larouci was the victim of a brutal foul that saw Sevilla defender Joris Gnagnon sacked during the 2-1 defeat in Boston's friendly match on Sunday.
The 18-year-old left-back has left Fenway Park on crutches, his right leg against the back, without Liverpool's medical team likely to make matters worse.
The bruises are so severe around the wound that the Reds were forced to postpone testing until Monday to find out the exact nature of any damage.
An early diagnosis, however, alleviated fears of any serious ligament or fracture problem, the player having been heavily caught while he was running at full speed.
But Liverpool remains concerned about Larouci's fitness, even though they hope that he will not be absent long-term.
