EDMUND KYEI, First Vice-President of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Asokwa constituency, insisted that the majority of poor road networks in the country would be repaired by the Akufo-Addo government.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo is determined to build modern road networks as part of the efforts of the president and his team to accelerate the economic transformation of the country.
During the weekend, he told DAILY GUIDE that he was still surprised that opponents of the president, including members of the National Democratic Congress (NEC), talk about the poor road networks in the country.
"The roads were in a deplorable state when we took the lead role because the NDC administration failed to repair them, but today the same political group is go back to point the finger at the president and his government, "he said.
"The president and his vice-president have worked hard to secure the funds needed to build first clbad roads in the country. The NPP government is reputed to keep its promises and all the promises we have made, particularly with regard to the road sector, will certainly be kept, "he said.
"The Minister of Roads and Roads, Mr. Kwasi Amoako Atta, is able to supervise the repair of the bad roads and I would like to say to the Ghanaians to be patient so that this government executes the projects in the interest of all ", he added.
He said the road sector was burdened with huge debts due to mismanagement of the funds by the NDC, adding "they have created an optimistic image of road networks in the country, but current events expose them to significant durations ".
He added that former President Mahama had told the world that he had repaired many roads in the country, but it turns out that no matter where the president was At present, the discussion has focused on how to repair bad roads.
"It tells everyone that Mr. Mahama and his NDC have all deceived us. President Akufo-Addo is not ready to lie to anyone. He will tell you the real situation, "he said.
Kyei said the pace of development of the country was making the NDC of the opposition frustrated. He insisted that Ghanaians would reward President Akufo-Addo and his party's government with a new mandate to pursue the good policies they are implementing.
