Morrison, Minister of Gender, Childhood and Social Welfare reiterated
the invitation of the public to refrain from giving alms to people with disabilities
in the streets.
She said the practice attracted more
people on the streets and discouraging them from acquiring skills that can be used.
Ms. Morrison said this in an interaction
with the media on the sidelines of the 28th graduation of Saint
Theresa vocational training center for people with disabilities in Abor in the
Akatsi Southern District of the Volta Region.
She said, "Many of them have been trained,
some are on the LEAP program but because they are making a lot of money on the road that they
continue "and urged the public to encourage it to acquire jobs
skills.
Mrs. Morrison warned young people against
fleeing vocational and technical education, saying that they made them employable
for life.
The Minister welcomed the contribution of
MTN Ghana Foundation to build the nation, especially after instituting a
set of scholarships for 20 disabled students every year since 2016
l & # 39; school.

smile at the faces of 20 Ghanaians with disabilities you have sponsored
at the Sainte-Thérèse Center for the Physically Disabled in the last three years,

The theme of the event was "equipping our
young people with skills, a path to the holistic development of our society ", and saw
the release of 45 students with skills in various technical and professional fields
course.
Certificates were given to all graduates,
with the MTN Ghana Foundation Fellows receiving start-up tools from
the foundation.
