UNAI EMERY confirmed that Arsenal was about to complete the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos on a one year loan agreement.
The 22-year-old Spanish international is due to travel to London for a medical examination on Tuesday, after Real boss Zinedine Zidane has given the green light to the move.
Emery confirmed, "We were talking about the possibility of hiring a player on loan.
"We had different names but Ceballos is a very good player. I know him from Betis at the start and Real Madrid.
"He played very well in under 21, his national team won the competition, he is a midfielder of eight and ten."
And it's a further victory for the Gunners' morale after signing a £ 27 million contract with young defenseman William Saliba, despite Tottenham's efforts to deflect the signing.
Zidane has always clarified that Ceballos still had a future at Bernabeu, but he thinks the player will benefit from the experience of playing clbadic football in the Premier League.
With these two agreements now, Arsenal will intensify its efforts to convince Scottish defender Kieran Tierney of Celtic.
The Scottish champions have already rejected two offers for Tierney and hold for £ 25m.
And Arsenal is now able to align this price because it will not pay the full 27 million pounds to Saliba before his arrival from St Etienne next year.
Emery admitted after Saturday's impressive 3-0 win over Fiorentina: "I am patient for the signatures because we want to choose the best solution.
"Some players are very expensive and we are waiting for this possibility because we do not want to go to the second line.
"We are aware that we need to improve some players in the team but I only want to sign three or four if we can be sure that they will come to make us better."
