Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, better known as Mzbel, a Ghanaian hiplife artist, said that she had never insulted Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's president when he was a candidate for the presidency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before the 2016 presidential and legislative elections.

She said that she had only teased him about the events of the time.

During the 2016 political campaign, Mzbel, a known militant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the main opposition party, said that Mr. Akufo-Addo was not a presidential document.

After the elections, Mzbel complained of harbadment by some supporters and sympathizers of the NPP, some of whom were its trading partners.

Speaking on Accra100.5FM on Monday, July 22, 2019, she said, "I do not regret at all campaigning for the NDC."

"I am disappointed by the people who treated me in the same way, because everyone has their political party, so my point of view should have been respected," she told Nana. Romeo.

She added, "I have never spoken against Nana Addo, I have never insulted her, just that most of my words had to tease. I talked about what was happening for people to laugh, so I was very disappointed.

She said that the incident had shown her how pbadionate Ghanaians were about politics and religion.

Mr Mzbel also expressed his optimism about the NDC's victory in the 2020 elections because the NPP has not kept its promises.

"President Akufo-Addo has not done half of the things Mahama has done and, as a result, the signs clearly indicate that the NDC will win the 220 elections," she said.
