The newly constructed Terminal 3 is flooded whenever there is a downpour
Contractors began working on parts of the apron and tarmac of Terminal 3 of Kotoka International Airport in order to repair a faulty drainage system.
Parts of the tarmac and terminal arrival areas were flooded after showers due to drainage system problems.
Aviation Minister Kofi Ada told Joy Business that the reconstruction works would be carried out by two entities – PW and Mappa Contractors.
"There was a bit of misunderstanding about the roles that each of them had to play. But this misunderstanding has been dispelled and they are working feverishly right now, "he said.
"PW is working on the side of the apron and Mappa is occupying the airside portion of the terminal," added.
He acknowledged that construction work needs to be undertaken quickly to prevent the flood from recurring.

Viral videos of the flood – showing workers mopping the ground – have revived public criticism against the administration headed by John Mahama, at the origin of the project.
