John Mahama's desperate bid for Ghana's presidency runs up against his rhetoric and cacophonous proclamations in the past.
His relations with the Ghanaian electorate can be compared to this book that I read years ago, written by Richard Akoji and titled

His categorical statement that governments should have more than four years to implement the policies they introduce is in town to haunt him.
Since this statement and video were released yesterday, all NDC social media gurus and communicators have been hibernating.
It seems that a foreign cat has closed his mouth and fingers as a result of this discovery.
In the middle of nowhere, Mahama was trapped by her own words of yesterday.
The principles, I've always said, do not change even with time. What we kept yesterday can not change today.
We will not cease to remind him of his own position of principle on this issue. His position raises the question.
Why is he trying to come back knowing full well that it is the first term of Akufo-Addo? It lacks principles. Greed is inherent in his blood circulation.
Sometimes we can not understand these apparatchiks and NDC bootlickers.
Mahama went to two or three places in the Northwest region. The president of the country should not go to the region.
Who is Mahama in the situation against the President of the Republic?
In case their minds have embarked on a trip to the island called hiatus, Akufo-Addo, the president, would be the number one men on earth!
The Mahama campaign tour was a disaster. His outings were marked by low participation. To the extent that their own party members have failed to make themselves heard, it speaks volumes about the fact that things are not working well for their Mahama.
If they want to consolidate the emptiness they've seen while touring with fairy tales, it's better to look for better ones than the ones they've adopted.
