Axed IGP has been labeled NDC Sympathizer …. for refusing to dance to the pace of NPP – Yamoah Ponko | Policy

Former municipal general manager [MCE] Afrifa Yamoah Ponko announced the announcement of the appointment of a new Inspector General of Police for Ejisu / Juaben in the Ashanti region [IGP] by the government, do not surprise him.

On Monday, July 22, 2019, President Akufo-Addo dismissed David Asante-Apeatu from his post at the bottom. In the publication announcing the dismissal of Mr. Asante-Apeatu, the Inspector General of the Deputy Police, Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh, was invited to fill the functions of IGP until the appointment from a background IGP.

Mr. Asante-Apeatu is on leave with immediate effect pending his retirement from the Ghanaian police on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. He is scheduled to retire from the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
