The National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the Savannah region has declared the operation "No pickup, no mercy" in order to demand the immediate return of the alleged Toyota Hilux pickup stolen belonging to the Savannah Regional Coordination Council .

The NDC has announced that it will team up with locals to hold a series of events to demand the return of the vehicle.

Malik Basintale, NDC's communications officer in the Savannah region, announced at a press conference in Damongo on Monday.

A Toyota Hilux pickup, which was one of eight vehicles introduced earlier this year by President Nana Akufo-Addo to the Savannah Regional Coordination Council, has been missing since the beginning of the month.

The vehicle was used to send the Savannah Regional Minister, Mr. Adam Salifu Braimah, to Tamale Airport and, on his instructions, the vehicle was parked at his friend's home in Tamale.

However, the minister's friend said that armed robbers attacked him and took away the vehicle.

The case was reported to police in Tamale on 07 July. On July 16, the police arrested the driver of the vehicle and the friend of the Minister to facilitate investigations into the alleged attack that resulted in the loss of the vehicle.

Mr Basintale said that the NDC would organize in the coming days a series of events to protest the incident and to ensure that the vehicle is returned to the area.

He added that the event would not only help protect the future of the region against wrongdoing, theft and abuse of power, but also preserve the integrity and credibility of the region in order to protect the region. attract potential investors.

He accused the regional minister of negligence and disobedience to the laws, calling into question his decision to park the vehicle at his friend's home.

He commended the police for their efforts in the matter of the case, urging them to continue their investigations on this matter.
