David Asante-Apeatu, former Inspector General of Police
A security badyst, Adam Bonah, said the dismissed police inspector general, David Asante-Apeatu, had underperformed in his two-and-a-half years as a senior official.
In light of recent kidnappings and violent crimes in the country, Mr. Bonah has found the old-fashioned IGP film to be poorly executed, which is why he rated it overall at 30%.
Cs Asante-Apeatu was removed from office by President Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday, July 22, less than a month before the end of her contract.
Although his contract was to end on August 14, he was asked to hand over to his deputy, James Oppong-Boanuh, and leave on leave with immediate effect.
No decision has been given for the decision.
Speaking Tuesday on the 3FM Sunrise morning show, Mr. Bonah, managing director of Security Warehouse Limited, said that Asante-Apeatu had experienced the worst security problems during his tenure.
"Week after week, there are challenges in kidnapping. Even though it has decreased, we have experienced a series of violent crimes, a series of road accidents, violent protests, innumerable security challenges and security issues under the mandate of the former IGP, "he said.
He insisted that the old IGP "should have taken more measures to control security in this country".
"We have several Mobile Money kiosks across the country, and some of us have proposed to regulate security, but for now nothing seems to be happening …", he said .
