Brendan Rodgers told Manchester United that they will have to comply with the Leicester City badessment if they want to reach an agreement on Harry Maguire during the window transfers for the summer.

The Red Devils have made English defenseman Maguire their main target this summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately needs to strengthen his defensive options after a disastrous season.

But Rodgers says Maguire will not leave King Power Stadium unless an appropriate offer is made. Leicester rates the 26-year-old player at 80 million pounds sterling.

"The club is in excellent health as there is no pressure to sell a player," Rodgers said after the pre-season friendly win over Cambridge United on Tuesday night.

And if a player leaves the city of Leicester, it will respect the badessment.

"We have a top player, watched by the top clubs. I respect that because I understand why, but there is no offer close to our badessment that would even take a look at.

'How he handled the situation was fantastic. Harry never hesitated.

"If an badessment is made that will please the property, then there is a decision to be made for the player."

Although closely linked to his transfer to Manchester United, Maguire started the pre-season matchup between Leicester and Cambridge on Tuesday and gave the Foxes a 3-0 win.

The England international held up well to score the first goal of Leicester, before Kelechi Iheanacho and Hamza Choudhury finished the victory.

Leicester, who finished ninth in the Premier League last season with 52 points, starts his 2019-20 campaign at home against the Wolves.

In addition to aiming for Maguire, Manchester United also want to recruit Lille winger Nicolas Pepe and Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff this summer.
