Deputy Secretary General of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has urged the opposition NDC to stop daydreaming "and hopes that the minority will win 70% of the parliamentary seats in the 2020 elections.

According to Obiri Boahen, who speaks loudly, the National Democratic Congress will never be able to win a majority in the House in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"he [ Haruna Iddrisu} can continue to hallucinate. He can continue to daydream. Even picking, filling and submitting forms have become a nightmare for the NDC and they are talking about winning majority seats in Parliament. We will give them a sound beating [in the 2020 elections]."

Haruna Iddrisu, a member of Tamale South's Parliament, had suggested that the NDC win 70 percent of the seats in parliament in the 2020 general election.

Haruna Iddrisu, in an interaction with the media after submitting candidatures to parliament as a single candidate, said the party was also on the verge of winning back all or part of the parliamentary seats lost in the 2016 general election in the northern region. .

He said the parliamentary seats that the party was likely to find under the names Savelugu, Nanton, Saboba, Tolon, Wulensi, Bimbilla and Gushegu had been lost to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 general election.

The NPP won 169 seats in Parliament in the 2016 elections, while the NDC won 106 seats.
