Yes, the new animated comedy from Fox Bless the harts is a departure from life in the south but it is do not a mark of satire point-and-ris. "I want it to be a show where you laugh with them and not at Emily Spivey, creator of the series, explained what happened during the weekend in TVLine's Comic-Con interview suite.

Spivey, who was joined in our SDCC studio by cast members Ike Barinholtz and Jillian Bell, placed the family at the center of the series on his own lineage in North Carolina. "I'm doing the show with so much love," she says, before calling the Harts, at their base, a "relatable American family". (Watch the trailer here)

With the basic questions needed behind us, my interview with the trio – that you can look at above – quickly turned into a series of comedy scenes involving the bitten side of Barinholtz as "mayor of Tinseltown", Spivey's controversial recruiting / negotiating strategy, and the unannounced cast transformation that led Kevin Spacey to leave for the 11th hour.

Bless the harts , which also features Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, will premiere on Sunday, September 29th at 8:30 am – 7:30 am on Fox.
