BERLIN (Reuters) – Deutsche Telekom on Wednesday scheduled a management meeting for US regulators to approve plans to merge its T-Mobile US with rival Sprint, according to the business daily Handelsblatt.
A meeting to inform Deutsche Telekom's supervisory board about the US strategy was scheduled at 10:15 am CET, Handelsblatt reported, citing unidentified sources.
Officials from the US Department of Justice (DoJ) had to agree after months of negotiations on the deal, Handelsblatt said.
Deutsche Telekom was not immediately available for comment.
The DoJ has asked T-Mobile US and Sprint Corp earlier this month to finalize the transaction by the end of the week in order to sell badets that will have to be badigned as a condition of their merger.
