Kenya's finance minister, Henry Rotich, was released on bail after an unprecedented court appearance, following a bribery scandal involving about $ 250 million.
Rotich pleaded not guilty to abuse of power involving contracts for two hydroelectric dams not yet built.
In addition to Rotich, 26 senior officials were also indicted. And prosecutors are demanding the extradition of an Italian business leader.
