We already have a strong candidate for the summer signing in Spain. Nabil Fekir, the World Cup winner who has almost joined Liverpool for 60 M € last year, joined Real Betis for only 20 million euros. There may be doubts about his fitness, but signing a player of his pedigree looks like a huge blow to the Andalusian game.
Fekir is perhaps the most eye-catching, but it's certainly not the only impressive signature by a mid-tier Spanish team this summer. Here are some other smart measures at staggering prices that may have been ignored this summer …
Raúl Albiol – Naples to Villarreal (4 M €)
He may be 33, but the former Real Madrid defender will add a little more quality and experience to the fragile back line of Villarreal. Only five teams have conceded more than the yellow submarine last season, and their weakness at the back has contributed mbadively to their fight of a season against relegation. Villarreal hopes that Albiol will have the same kind of impact as fellow international Santi Cazorla when he returned to the club last season.
Alexander Isak – Borussia Dortmund at Real Sociedad (€ 6.5m)
Isak, who is only 19 years old, is one of the highest rated youth in world football. Having scored in his homeland, Sweden, with 10 league goals for the AIK, he signed for Borussia Dortmund shortly after his 17th birthday. In Germany he struggled to qualify for the first team, but 13 goals in 16 loan matches at Willem II last season convinced Real Sociedad of his quality. Isak now has the opportunity to put his career back on track, far from the spotlight in San Sebastian, and the 6.5 million euros invested by La Real could be a good deal.

Joan Jordán – Eibar in Seville (€ 14 million)
It may have a name reminiscent of your Nan friends, but do not be discouraged. Joan Jordán is a solid but energetic midfielder whose performances have been essential to maintain the outperformance of Eibar en Liga in the last two seasons. He was strongly linked to a transfer to Arsenal earlier in the transfer window, but Sevilla's Julen Lopetegui managed to beat the Gunners. At 25, Jordán enters his glory years and should be part of a Sevilla team in full reconstruction, overseen by the new boss Lopetegui and his new technical director, Monchi.
Portu – Girona to Real Sociedad (€ 10 million)
Portu, or Cristian Portugués Manzanera to give him his full name, was a star on the Girona side whose light shone but too briefly in La Liga over the past two seasons. Versatile player who can play on the direct line and on the flanks, but who is probably more comfortable in a central offensive midfielder, Portu scored 20 goals and 7 badists during the ephemeral visit of Girona to top, and his style both hardworking and skilled should make him a good deal for La Real at only 10 M €.

Santi Mina – Valencia to Celta (coins exchange)
By insisting that Mina be included in any agreement to take Maxi Gómez to Valencia, Celta de Vigo has found a solution that would suit all parties perfectly. Mina would have been destabilized in Valencia. A return to his club, his hometown, seemed to be the best solution. Undoubtedly talented, he had brilliant brilliants in Valencia, often followed by periods of frustration. As his teammate return Denis Suárez, Mina hopes that a homecoming will give her career the boost that she gave to Iago Aspas, who struggled to get rid of Vigo but who has changed his career since his return.
