Boxer Barry McGuigan's daughter, Danika, died at age 30, the family confirmed today.
In a statement, they said that actress Danika McGuigan, also known as Nika, had been adopted this week after a short battle with cancer.
She died Tuesday, July 23 in the middle of her family.
The family claimed to have been devastated by his death and that the message had been distributed by the agency of actors in Dublin, The Agency.
"It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share the announcement of the death of our beautiful daughter and sister-in-law, Danika 'Nika' McGuigan ', said their statement Wednesday.
"After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Nika died peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, July 23, surrounded by her loving family.
"As a family, we are devastated and ask for total privacy during this difficult time to allow us to cry our Nika.

The actress played against Rooney Mara in Sebastian Barry's screen adaptation of The Secret Scripture.
She recently completed the filming of Wildfire and played alongside Seána Kerslake in the RTÉ Can not Cope series, Will not Cope.
Retired boxer Barry shares the Nika with his wife Sandra, both of whom also have boys, Shane, Jake and Blane.
At age 58, he hung up his gloves in 1989 and was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2000.
In a 2005 Times article, it was revealed that Danika had been diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 11.
"I can not tell you how terrified I was to see her live all this," he said at the time. the problems that life can pose to you.
