Regular consumption of nuts improves sexual function

Researchers from the Human Nutrition Unit of Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona / Spain) and the Pere Virgili Institute for Health Research (IISPV) have discovered that a consumption of 60 grams of nuts a day improves badual function. They conducted the first nutritional intervention study with healthy participants of childbearing age to determine whether regular consumption of nuts had an effect on badual function. Sample and results

The prevalence of erectile and badual dysfunction is thought to affect 2% of men under 40, about 52% of men aged 40 to 70, and over 85% of men over 80. Risk factors badociated with badual and erectile dysfunctions are smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol, lack of physical exercise, stress and unhealthy eating.

In a previous study, the same research group had described how some nuts (nuts, hazelnuts, and almonds) improved sperm quality, although no studies yet demonstrate the positive effects of these nuts on badual function.

Their most recent study was conducted on 83 people who followed a Western diet (low in fruits and vegetables and high in animal fat). The participants were divided into two groups: one group continued to follow their normal Western diet for 14 weeks, while the other completed their diet with a daily intake of 60 grams of nuts, hazelnuts and almonds. At the end of the study period, each person completed an internationally validated questionnaire, known as IIEF-15, containing 15 questions about badual function.

The results show that adding walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds to an unhealthy Western diet can enhance badual desire and the quality of bad. The researchers also pointed out that more studies involving more participants are needed to confirm these findings and determine how these benefits materialize.
