Jurgen Klopp has ruled out Gareth Bale moving to Liverpool this summer.
Bale is free to leave Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane to urge the Welsh to act before the start of next season.
A move to China has been planned for Bale, who says he will not be forced to leave the Bernabeu.
As things stand, no Premier League club has addressed the issue, but former Liverpool skipper Paul Ince has suggested that the Reds sign it if they can.
But Klopp put an end to speculation about a possible late move of the Welsh international.
"I do not know why these fantastic football players have such strange ideas," Klopp said about Ince's comments.
"Bale is a Real Madrid player and if he leaves it, he will be exceptionally expensive, with high salaries, and so on.
"He's a really great player, I really like him, and he won the Champions League final alone two years ago.
"I do not know what happened, but it's not just about him, it's about all these players.
"We have to create a team, a team is not a set of individual players and in the end you have the best.
"They have to work together, agree with each other and that's why we work, not for these huge individual players."
Liverpool was tipped to make moves for players like Nicolas Pepe this summer, but Klopp will not spend as much money as he did a year ago.
The Reds are supposed to take shelter in the rear position before closing the transfer window.
