The main awards ceremony is scheduled for November.
The nominations for the Outstanding Women's Award in Ghana 2019 (GOWA) were opened by burgeoning women, who should be honored in their respective field of work during the year of examination. .
The second edition of the award on the theme "Inciting Lives by Generosity" would see women rewarded in 20 categories: Outstanding Woman of the Year, SHERO of the Year, Outstanding Woman from Africa, Woman exceptional, among others in the field of health.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, Executive Director of GOWA, said she is delighted with the progress made by the awards program, which recognizes the efforts of women who give their best to the society.
"We look forward to bringing the awards to a higher level by recognizing the efforts of women not only in Ghana, but around the world," she said, after announcing the creation of the Outstanding African Women's Award. (AOWA) to be held in 2020.
"There has been an improvement in this year's categories as we seek to identify and honor women involved in social change," she added.
