The construction of the project, which began in 2007 and was abandoned after the 2008 elections when the government of the new patriotic party of President John Agyekum Kufuor, he said, is a commitment of his government for growth and the development of the fisheries sector.

The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, the Hon. In order to reinvigorate the aquaculture development agenda, the minister said adequate incentives were provided to boost private sector investment, delivery of quality extension services and input support.
