Jon Favreau reveals an interesting detail about his future Star wars series, The mandalorian during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live: He's already writing the second season.
The program has not yet been launched, but it is the spearhead of the Star wars incursion of the brand in live television. Prior to The mandalorianthere have been some attempts to bring the range of the film series to a smaller screen. There were of course the years 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, a variety show filled with bad decisions. It soured Star wars his creator George Lucas on television, although he retried it in the 1980s with two television movies devoted to the Ewoks of Return of the jedi. The reception of the second film, The battle of Endor, end more live action Star wars TV projects in the 20th century.
After the conclusion of the pre-film trilogy in the early 2000s, Lucas considered a series of 100 episodes taking place in the period between Star Wars: Episode III – Sith Revenge and the original Star wars. This never materialized because he had planned to write and film the basics of the series even before it was released – a giant financial hurdle. Then he sold his entire business to Disney, which clearly had episodic motives. Star wars series from the start. The result, a decade or so later, is The mandalorian.
Like most Star wars projects, details about the series require the help of Bothan's spies. Fortunately, we have some and can present this file on The mandalorian, the most exciting Star wars development in a while.
What is The mandalorian?

The mandalorian is a live action of eight episodes Star wars The series is expected to debut on the Disney + streaming service this fall. Created by Favreau, it features Pedro Pascal (Narcos) as an unnamed bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor. He also presents Gina Carano (dead Pool) as a rebel shock fighter named Cara Dune and Carl Weathers (Predator) as Greef Carga, leader of a Bounty Hunters Guild on the outside edge. Giancarlo Esposito (breaking Bad), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Omid Abtahi (American gods) will also appear as a member of a faction still faithful to the First Galactic Empire. Emily Swallow (Supernatural) and Nick Nolte (Affliction).
Favreau also brought together a group of directors composed of stars, including Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The clone war, Star Wars Rebels), who directed the first episode, Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) and Taika Waititi, who would also have expressed a character. Favreau and Filoni are executive producers of the program along with Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. And if the appearance of Star Wars Celebration in April is an indication, Filoni is as involved as Favreau, which leaves fans hoping to Wars of clones or The rebels will appear.
When is the series set?

The action begins five years after the events of Return of the jedi.
"It was really convincing to me what was happening after the celebration of the fall of the empire," Favreau said when he appeared at Star Wars Celebration. "The revolution was a success, but what happens next?"
Killing the emperor and destroying the second death star did not end the conflict between the Alliance and the Empire. Several regional garrisons and governors still loyal to the cause maintained their grip on different star systems as the Alliance attempted to create a new Republic. Of course, the New Republic is hundreds of light years away from the conflict that is affecting the area of outer space. The mandalorian, leaving a lot under imperial oppression continues. A character from Esposito ordering his men to shoot a small community to smoke a person of interest is shown at the celebration.
The choice of the time allows Favreau, Filoni and their collaborators to integrate in a part of the galaxy intact Star wars following movies. Since Star Wars: The awakening of the force takes place some 15 years after The mandalorian begins, the TV show has a long time to develop his characters and his story.
What is the story?

Our Bothans are not yet clear on this front. But at the beginning of the series, Mandalorian, short of credits, meets Carga to recover all his bonuses. Carga directs him instead to what Weathers calls a "sensitive client" who turns out to be the dignitary of Emperor Herzog. The Mandalorian is offered some details about his bonus. He also receives the last four digits of the career gene marker. Herzog's character wants the bonus to be brought alive, but he is also willing to pay a reduced fee if the Mandalorian were to kill the mark.
Herzog's character features traditional Mandalorian artifacts as part of the payment, but also suggests that they may not matter to the main character as he may be a stolen-armor suitor.
"He is a mysterious and only fighter in the far reaches of the galaxy," said Pascal about the character. "Some would say that he has a questionable moral character."
We suppose that the identity of the man under the helmet will also be a recurring element, just like the use of the force of the rest of the Imperial in this part of space. From the images we saw at Celebration, The mandalorian will take place in dusty villages and snowy worlds, evoking the look and feel of the original Star wars trilogy. And considering the look of the series, we think that the Mandalorian is only a question of time and that it is in conflict with the Imperials. It's a tradition of Star wars narration, after all.
When he appeared on KimmelFavreau also said the show was about what was happening when the rule of law would disappear.
Will we be familiar Star wars Faces?

Probably not in the first season. From the beginning, Favreau said he wanted to build a new area of the galaxy.
"These are all new characters," he said last May, "[and] different planets. "
This means that major characters like Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) will be far from the action of the series. That said, it is still possible that representatives of the New Republic take note of what is happening in The mandalorianThe space sector.
Nevertheless, rumors persist that Star Wars Rebels The character of Hera Syndulla (voiced by Vanessa Marshall in this series) will make her live-action debut. Our Bothans are not so sure of these reports. Before the celebration, many people believed that the famous GI-88 bounty hunter droid would be part of the cast – voiced by Taika Waititi, no less! – but the IG droid seen in the movie Celebration is revealed to be a completely different droid: IG-11. Yes, the digital difference matters.
That said, we would not be surprised if the name Jodo Kast – a man claiming to be Boba Fett in a series of now-abandoned Disney tales Star wars cannon – makes its way into the series. Filoni is known for reformulating the ideas of incorporating ideas from the expanded Universe into his stories, and this one seems ripe for The mandalorian.
When and where will it be broadcast?

The series will be a launching star for the upcoming Disney + streaming service. Although it is still unclear whether the series will be ready to be used as a Netflix Original or badyzed for several weeks (at CBS All Access), Star Trek: Discovery), you will have a first glimpse of the series on November 12, date of the launch of the service.
Is it the only Star wars Show the way?

No. A series with Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryCbadian Andor (Diego Luna) and K-2S0 (Alan Tudyk) are also in development. Filoni Wars of clones will also make a comeback on Disney + for a seventh and final season. Our Bothans also expect that Disney will continue to develop for many years new animation and animation series for the platform.
