Security is very present on the Winneba campus of the University of Education a few hours after the prof. Mawutor Avoke, ousted, stormed the administrative block of the institution by announcing his reinstatement.
Police officers present at the university since Professor Avoke made a similar demonstration on Tuesday had to ask for a backup after the deputy vice chancellor promised to return with more men.
The men he is talking about are speakers who have also been removed from office.
Professor Avoke does not understand why, even after an investigation and an agreement of the Bureau of Economic and Organized Crime (EOCO) for abuse of power and violations of supply, the University refused to reinstate him.
He wants his successor, Professor Anthony Afful-Broni, to leave the office he claims to be right.
Professor Afful-Broni was sworn in as Vice Chancellor, in the presence of President Akufo-Addo
Tuesday, a speaker and president of the Association of Senior Executives of the University filed an application with the High Courtprevent Professor Afful-Broni from standing as vice-chancellor or from baduming such functions in this capacity at STE.
Kinsgley Amoakwah also requests an order barring Professor Afful-Broni from "continually ingesting in the administration of Professor Mawutor Avoke", that he claims to be the legitimate vice-chancellor of the University.
"An order prohibiting Professor Afful-Broni, his badigns, his agents or any person who claims through him to walk or drive within the UEW main administration block, where is Professor Avoke's office, "a copy of the request previewed by Joy News said.
On the basis of this request, Professor Avoke and some other dismissed staff members stormed the university to demand the immediate dismissal of Professor Afful-Broni as Vice-Chancellor.
But the university management will not have one.
Professor Avoke is unhappy to stay in office even after EOCO has authorized him
His public relations manager, Ernest Azutiga, called Mr Avoke's move a "coup d'etat" which was "aborted".
He said it was absurd for Professor Avoke and the other dismissed staffers to think that, by filling out a request, the University will withdraw Professor Afful-Broni.
"Everyone can go to court and apply, but as we live in a legal environment, the court will consider all the requests you have made, but that does not mean that they have have been accepted. The court must hear the other side.
"There is a VC that has been properly and properly invested. There have been no fewer than six decisions stating that this television channel was properly installed (…). Someone said, "I have this app, it's strange," he told Maxwell Agbagba, of the newspaper Joy News, during an interview.
While some members of the UEW University Teachers' Association in Ghana (UTAG) applauded Professor Avoke for his actions, others criticized him.

One of them is Eric Nketiah who stated that they were outraged by Prov. Avoke shares.
He described the decision of some of the members to support the fallen Vice Chancellor as false.
"It's not something we agree with … they're very wrong and we think we have to do what's right. What needs to be done is that a court decision is made by a board, because the power to appoint that power rests with the board and anyone who has been appointed to the office of the university – a position of direction – this person should not be appointed by a board or an authority acting on behalf of the board, "he said.
