Sir Elton John's mid-summer party in the South of France raised 5.5 million euros (4.9 million pounds sterling) for the global effort to end AIDS.
Sir Elton and her husband David Furnish, Dame Joan Collins and Taron Egerton – who plays Sir Elton in the biopic Rocketman were present at the Cap d'Antibes gala on the Côte d'Azur.
The post-dinner auction included the first edition of the new Bentley, a Yamaha piano used in the Rocketman movie and signed by Sir Elton and Egerton, a Gucci jacket worn by Egerton at Rocketman, and tickets to the tour. Sir Elton's farewell.
"It is thanks to the constant support and kindness of so many in this room that we are able to engage the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF) to create real partnerships with world leaders who can build a future without AIDS.
The summer portion of EJAF has sought to raise funds to support its new program which aims to provide HIV test kits to 400,000 young men in Kenya and to promise treatment for each test. HIV testing received from the program.
