The Japanese auto giant Nissan announced the cancellation of 12,500 jobs in order to strengthen its finances after the recent troubles.

It will reduce its production capacity by 10% by the end of 2022, but it does not say where the cuts will fall.

The company also announced a 94.5% decline in net income for the first quarter of 2019.

This is one of the worst quarterly performances of the automaker in a decade.
