According to him, cocoa farmers had better annual yields when fertilizers were released under his mandate.
The NDC's flag bearer asked why the Akufo-Addo government would end such an initiative and instead sell fertilizers to cocoa farmers.
However, President Akufo-Addo also refuted these badertions during a keynote address at a Durbar held in Daboase, capital of East Wbada district, as part of his two-day tour in the western region.
The president said the Mahama administration had "zero" for agriculture and cocoa production.
He further asked the CND to provide evidence of any policies implemented during its mandate to stimulate the agricultural sector.
According to him, the NDC government has not even managed to maintain the achievements of the Kufuor administration in the production of cocoa and other fields of agriculture.
Now, the question is which government among the two actually oversaw more returns in the cocoa sector.

At the time of President John Agyekum Kufour, the country's cocoa production went from about 350,000 metric tons to 750,000 tons.
Cocoa production continued to increase under the John Evans Atta-Mills government, from 750,000 tonnes to 1 million tonnes.
However, there was a drastic drop in production during John Mahama's tenure. Cocoa production has been reduced from 1 million tonnes to 700,000 tonnes.
Meanwhile, the Akufo-Addo government has reduced cocoa production to 900,000 tons since taking office.
