Awal Mohammed, a 10-year-old boy, whose body was repeatedly torn by his mother's home in Obuasi, a suburb of Boete, in the Ashanti region, was hospitalized after being collapsed in the house of a neighbor where he had sought refuge.

He was taken to the Bryant Mission Hospital and admitted to the emergency unit for treatment on Sunday morning after the police gave him a medical form.

Mavis Owiredu, a good Samaritan, who saved the boy from his angry mother, Mariam Issah, helped the haemorrhagic boy survive the machete attacks.

Officers from the Victims of Domestic Violence and Victims Unit of the Divisional Police Command in Obuasi have since invited the pregnant mother of the victim to interrogation.

"I'm sorry for my action. It was an evil spirit manipulation. This boy troubled me a lot – eating the leftover cutter bars to my heartache and I committed this unfortunate crime, "said Mariam Issah, while showing his remorse at the police station.

According to her, since the incident, she regretted having sliced ​​both boy's legs and left hand.

Dr. Haruna Yalim, from the Bryant Mission Hospital, said that Awal Mohammed had been taken to the institution with swollen hands and legs and that he had lost more of blood.
