Tom Dele-Bashiru is looking forward to life in Watford and thinks there is a path of progression towards Vicarage Road.
Nigeria's under-20 midfielder has joined Manchester City after the expiry of his contract and has signed a six-year contract with the Hornets.
After the move, he told the club's website that he was eager to make a name for himself.
"I have the impression that all young players have their own course and their own story, but I am now ready to move on to the next stage," said the midfielder.
"I have to play games and make a name for myself.
"There is definitely a way here, the team plays good football and has fantastic fans.
"The opportunity to come here and play in front of them was attractive. It was really the best choice for me.
Dele-Bashiru is used to training with Pep Guardiola since his stint in Man City. He said that the experience was intense, but that he had learned a lot from the manager.
"It was very intense," said Dele-Bashiru.
"He always knew what he wanted and if you did not give it to him, he was not happy.
"I learned a lot from him and it was excellent to train under him."
During his time with the citizens, the young man was used sparingly and made his debut late in a Carabao Cup match.
He now hopes to gain more play time with Watford.
"It was a crazy night," he said of his debut.
"I was excited to eventually be able to enter the field, but I was completely shocked when Pep told me to come.
"I felt like I had worked hard for that moment. It's frustrating that I have not played since, but that's why I want to be here in Watford, where I hope I have more play time. "
