Kaizer Chiefs new recruit Samir Nurkovic believes he has the badets to succeed in the Premier Soccer League, relying on his own pedigree of goals.

Nurkovic was introduced to the press at an unveiling ceremony at Naturena on Monday night alongside other new boys, James Kotei, Lazarous Kambole and Kearyn Baccus.

Kambole and Nurkovic both join the group with proven track record as scorers, albeit in less fanciful leagues. Nurkovic has spent most of his career in his native Serbia, while the Chiefs are the first non-Zambian Kambole club.

"Last season, I played 28 games and scored 23 goals and five badists. The previous season, I played 20 games and scored 16 goals. I played for 10 years in Slovakia for three different teams. I do my best there and I score a lot of goals and it was my pbadport [to move abroad]"Nurkovic said.

"I can not see in the future, but I'm always optimistic. My job as an attacker is to score as much as possible, but no matter who marks. One thing is important, we have three points after the match. "

Comparison of Kambole chefs to Mbesuma

Kambole meets the Chiefs with some expectations, partly because of an excellent season but also partly thanks to the exploits of his compatriot Collins Mbesuma at the club.

The striker insisted that he was his own man and Chiefs to write his own story.

"It's Collins Mbesuma and me, I'm Lazarous Kambole and I'm here to write my own story," Kambole said about comparisons between Mbesuma.

"Of course, most Zambians who played in the PSL have done so well. Especially the attackers – they scored a lot of goals.

"And that's a motivation for me. I also want to write my own story here. I want to score goals. I want to help and especially win something for this great club.

"I was with Zesco for six years. I've won five trophies with them. And I just wanted a new challenge, a new chapter, Kaizer Chiefs, "he said.

"Kaizer Chiefs is a big brand. It's a great club with a rich history. And of course, it's a professional club. The way they do things, it's great to be here.

"But the decision came from my heart. This was not a money issue.

"I have received offers from Belgium, Australia, Congo, other teams from SA, Primeiro de Agosto in Angola. But the decision was so easy for me to come here and join Kaizer Chiefs.

"I also wanted a new challenge. For four years, they have not won a trophy, so it's a big challenge for me. "

Leaders begin their PSL campaign on Sunday, Aug. 4 with a short trip to Tembisa to face the Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium.
