The good works of KEDA ceramics, also known as Twyford, a Chinese-made factory located in Shama, in the western region, have won the hearts and admiration of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The president congratulated the company for its industrialization effort in the western enclave.
President Nana Akufo Addo said that he supported the company to encourage him to continue to create jobs, to reduce the import bill of tiles and to participate in the industrialization campaign of the government dubbed District 1 Factory.
It was during a working visit to KEDA ceramics in Shama as part of her official tour of the Western Region on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.
The second phase of plant operations is scheduled to begin in September 2019.
"One of the main reasons I participate in this tour in the Western Region is to give my full support to this company to encourage it to continue its work."
President Akufo Addo also congratulated Twyford Ceramics for using local raw materials for manufacturing and production and for its "significant contribution" to Ghana's industrialization by contributing to a 40% reduction in tile imports in Ghana .
