ASAP Rocky: President Trump asks the American rapper to leave Sweden

US President Donald Trump has asked Sweden to "give freedom to ASAP Rocky" in a series of tweets.

The musician, whose real name is Rakim Myers, was charged with badault causing bodily harm in Stockholm. He will remain in detention until the holding of a trial.

Mr. Trump raged on Twitter that Sweden had "let down our African-American community".

ASAP was arrested on July 3 as a result of a filming fight.

Two other men who were with them at the time were also charged with badault. The musician says that his group was followed by a group of men and that he acted in self defense.

Donald Trump said last week that he had spoken with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven about the ASAP case.

However, on Thursday, the President wrote that he was "very disappointed" by Mr. Löfven's "inability to act" and urged him to "treat the Americans fairly ".

Other celebrities such as Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have also called for the release of ASAP.

Daniel Suneson, the Swedish prosecutor in charge of the case, said he had not spoken to any White House official or Swedish government official during his investigation.

He added that there was "an obvious risk that these three suspects would leave the country if they were released."

On Wednesday, the rapper's mother pleaded for the release of her son. Renee Black told Swedish newspaper Expressen that ASAP "does not eat properly".

The trial must begin on July 30th.

How did the arrest of ASAP Rocky unfold?

A video posted online seems to show as soon as possible Rocky hits another man on the street.

In the videos posted on ASAP, Rocky's Instagram, afterward, he and the people with whom he is in contact repeatedly tell two men to stop following them.

One of the men accused the 30-year-old's team of having broken his headphones.

In the caption of the first video, ASAP, Rocky writes, "We do not know these guys and we did not want any problems, they followed us for four blocks."

In the second case, he accuses the man of having hit his security officer "in the face with a helmet".

The 30-year-old was in Stockholm to perform at the Smash Festival.
