Real Madrid News: Ferland Mendy has been ruled out for a period of up to four weeks

Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy is expected to be out for three to four weeks due to a thigh problem, the club confirmed.

The left-back has been diagnosed with a muscle injury that will keep him on the sidelines of the first weeks of the new La Liga campaign.

French international Mendy, who made a money transfer to Santiago Bernabeu in June since Ligue 1 training in Lyon, will likely miss his team's first match against Celta Vigo.

Pbading in the ranks of Parisian youth Saint-Germain and Le Havre, he made the leap in team football with the latter in 2015 before signing with Lyon in 2017 a five-year contract.

He made more than 75 appearances during his two seasons at the club. His form in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns earned him to be selected for the division 's year – round team.
